Prepared and delivered Official Istanbul Sustainable Tourism Action Plan for Istanbul Tourism Directorate onbehalf of Bimtaş, Planning Agency of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality. Proudly worked with Istanbul Technical University Urban Planning professors and graduate students as star team and established a unique methodology for Sustainable Tourism Action Plans.
Researched global markets, analyzed global and local tourism data on Istanbul’s existing tourism industry, tourism types and tourism potentials with all the downsides and shortcomings, gathered tourism stakeholders of Istanbul at certain full-day workshops for their insider opinions.
Applied Global Sustainable Tourism Criteria of environmental conservation, socio-economic and sustainable management indicators in the actions of each tourism type of Istanbul, by analyzing more than 100 UpToDate global destination tourism action plans:
Gathered full data of Istanbul's tourism sector, analyzed, and placed using GIS mapping technology. More than 1 million data points mapped through more than 170 data points. Latest and first real-time big data tourism inventory of the city.
Travel e22 developed Tourism Master Plan in conjunction with multi-national teams located across Germany, Spain, Italy, Kazakhstan, and Russia, to identify tourism possibilities. Authored business strategy and management developments plans as well as urban planning scaled maps leveraging various tourism resources, nurturing projected achievement of sustainable tourism operations region-wide. Interfaced with several professors with specialization in Urban Planning across various Universities, gaining insight into regional features.
The project “ALECTOR - Collaborative Networks of Multilevel Actors to advance quality standards for heritage tourism at Cross Border Level” funded by The EU for IPA FLB Partner, Governorship of Istanbul. Project was within ENPI CBC Sea Basin Programme 2007-2013 Black Sea. In this capacity, he provided technical assistance for the tourism development and promotion plan of destination Şile (on Black Sea coast of Istanbul) for the enhancement of tourism marketing and promotional capabilities, upgrading the functions of Şile and Black Sea regions of Istanbul.
Supporting cross border partnerships for economic and social development based on combined resources. Enhancing the competitiveness of local and regional actors by promoting the use of information and communication technologies. Project budget: €946.305,74.
